Twenty Ten to the Rescue

I’m currently redesigning Doug Draws using the Twenty Ten theme. I did this to make things (hopefully) more simple for people who visit my site. I wanted to just focus on my work and make it obvious that I’m an illustrator and that I’m for hire. I’ve removed the blog and a few other things and I’m still working out the kinks, but I should have everything fixed in a few days.

You’ll notice that now everything you need to find is right up in the nav bar – no junk or extra crud. The Coldstone theme was just too bloated and full of unnecessary code for my liking. This theme is very easy on both the eyes and the bandwidth. I haven’t yet figured out how to make short little “blurbs” on this home page that would link to another page for posts, like a “News” page for example. But I’m working on it. Of course if anyone does know how to do this I would appreciate the info.

Browse around and let me know what you think of this new set up in the comments.

Thank you.

You’ll need to create a new loop.php for the homepage, say homeloop.php and then change the_content to the_excerpt. Then you’ll have the “blurbs” on your homepage. Love the new design :D

Hi Darren, thanks for stopping by. I don’t know anything about those codes or where to put them? I did manage to create a Home page to write posts on that don’t appear anywhere else. I found this info on this page here.

    Thanks for the comment :)
